Who Is Asta in Black Clover?
Asta is the hero, the MC (main character), of Black Clover. He was left as a baby at a church in Hage village, a poor town at the far edge of the Clover Kingdom, on the same day as another orphan, Yuno. The two grew up together as best friends and rivals, and both swore to become the Wizard King, the strongest mage in the kingdom.
The difference between them is huge. Yuno is a natural genius with enormous magical power. Asta has none. Everyone in the Clover Kingdom has at least some mana, the energy that fuels magic, except Asta. Why Asta Has No Magic, and What Anti-Magic Is
Asta is the only person in the Clover Kingdom born without any mana. He can't cast spells, fly on a broom, or feel magic the way other mages do. For years, that made him a joke in a world built on magic.
His power comes from somewhere else. Asta's grimoire holds anti-magic, a force that cancels magic rather than creating it. Anything his anti-magic touches loses its magical effect, whether it's a fireball, a barrier or a curse. Because Asta has no mana of his own, anti-magic doesn't clash with anything inside him, which is part of why he can wield it at all.

Asta's Powers and Abilities
Without magic, Asta's power comes from four places:

Most grimoires have three leaves. A four-leaf grimoire, like Yuno's, is a sign of great luck. Asta's has five leaves, and in Black Clover the fifth leaf means a devil lives inside it.
